Product Description
The Tactical Tourniquet (SOFT) is a generic equivalent of the SOFT-01 original narrow band tourniquet.
Simple Application
Unlike other tourniquets that require you to use two methods of application, The Tactical Tourniquet (SOF) is applied the same way to an arm or leg.
Durability
The Tourniquet is constructed of quality, high-strength materials. The windlass is manufactured from a solid piece of aircraft aluminium and maintains its strength in the most extreme temperatures and conditions. The tri-rings are moulded Acetyl, a high impact plastic, which will also maintain its strength in extreme operating conditions.
Reliable
The Tactical Tourniquet (SOF) is designed to reduce the chance of accidental release or mechanical failure. Unlike other materials, including Velcro(r), the fastening system will perform when soiled, muddy, frozen or wet. The safety set screw prevents accidental release of pressure during patient movement.
The screw is not required to gain haemorrhage control, but it is recommended if the patient will be moved in a hazardous environment.
Dual locking rings offer a back-up locking system.
Note:
While new tourniquets with a wider band and a simpler locking system have been introduced, the original SOFT-01 design has two advantages.
1. The narrow band makes it easier to control bleeding on difficult areas such as the thigh.
2. The original locking mechanism is more secure, and less likely to spontaneously release.
The screw clamp uses a tooth type buckle coupled with a metal set screw
